IMAGING

PAU CENTRE FOR X-RAY IMAGING (PCXI)

A direct result of the cooperation between the UPPA and Total, supported by CNRS, a centre for X-ray imaging has been inaugurated in order to develop RD&I in this field. As a user-facility, the PCXI disposes of 2 micro computed tomography scanners for the visualisation of the internal structure of materials with a precision reaching that of one thousandth of a millimeter.

Its objective is to strengthen the development of a pole of excellence that fosters innovation in the energy field, and make the territory of Pau Pyrenees a «PETROPOLE ».

Located on the UPPA campus, the centre is directed by the researcher Peter Moonen and involves more than ten collaborators.
