Regional 2020 plan - the factory of the future

Centre of resources and of technology transfer, the objective of METALLICADOUR is to implement and develop applied research activities that aim to foster technological innovation for companies, and in particular SMEs and MMCs of the Aquitaine and Midi Pyrenees regions.

Located in the heart of the Adour industrial basin, its ambition is two-fold : endow the industrial fabric with a shared technological platform dedicated to the « metallic », and allow SMEs and MMCs access to shared technological means to implement their strategy of development and improve their competitiveness. This shared platform is to structure, in collaboration with COMPOSITADOUR, the local technological needs around collective projects (CORAC Aerospace Factory of the future…) equally involving research laboratories (ENIT, I2M, UPPA IPREM, Estia,...) in order to preserve and develop local historic competences.

A « HARD-METAL MACHINING » POLE

dedicated to the improvement of the local SMEs,
  ●  Optimisation of cutting parameters
  ●  Process control and measurement

A « ROBOTIZATION » POLE

in order to disseminate automated solutions within SMEs for the replacement of dangerous and low value-added manual tasks,
  ●  finalization / polishing
  ●  3D optical measuring

AN « ASSEMBLY » POLE

for the dissemination in the local ecosystem of groundbreaking industrial late stage procedures on their way to becoming manufacturing standards.
  ●  FSW – MIG – CMT
  ●  Control and simulation procedures

This project was launched in January of 2012, at the instigation of the major local aerospace groups, SAFRAN Turbomeca and MESSIER-BUGATTI-DOWTY, DAHER, l'Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes (ENIT), l'UIMM Adour Atlantique, le Conseil général des Pyrénées- Atlantiques et Aquitaine Développement Innovation (ADI).

Centre of Industrial Training

The Consortium of Metallurgical Trades and Industries, and the Pole of Industrial Technology Training, on the Aeropolis centre located at Bordes-Assat, offer several training schemes adapted to the industry’s needs.
